Storage & Care

Storage and care of your natural soaps

To ensure maximum enjoyment of our high-quality natural soaps, I recommend simple storage and care:

  1. Dry and well ventilatedStore ftet: Store your natural soaps in a dry place that is well ventilated. Avoid standing water as it can soften the soaps.

  2. Use soap dishn: Place your soaps on a soap dish or rack so they can dry thoroughly between uses.

  3. Avoid direct sunlight: To ensure their durability, do not expose the soaps to direct sunlight or heat.

  4. Storage dark and cool: Store your natural soaps in a cool and dark place to preserve their quality.

If stored correctly, the shelf life of natural soaps can be several years, depending on the variant.

Soap Scum:My Approach to minimizing Soap Scum

As a passionate manufacturer of handmade natural soaps at SimplySoap.ch, it is important to me to offer you not only products for skin care, but also useful knowledge about soaps and their use. An issue that affects many of my customers and is particularly close to my heart is the formation of soap scum, also known as lime soap.

Soap residue is formed when soap reacts with the minerals in the water - mainly calcium and magnesium. This reaction results in a white, sticky residue that often builds up in showers and bathtubs. To address this problem, I have incorporated a special ingredient into my soap recipes: citric acid. The citric acid reacts with the minerals in the water before they can interact with the soap. This helps to reduce the formation of soap scum, although it cannot be completely avoided.

To clean your bathroom, I recommend an environmentally friendly, biodegradable vinegar cleaner. Vinegar is an effective, natural solution that helps dissolve soap scum and keep surfaces shiny and clean.

My goal at SimplySoap.ch is to not only offer you high-quality soaps, but also practical tips for an environmentally conscious and healthy life. I hope this information helps you keep your bathroom clean and fresh naturally.
